Letter From the
Editor
The premiere issue of High
Maintenance, which debuted on June 1, 2003, was an incredible success!
I knew people would enjoy having a free online magazine on fashion dolls
but the responses I received were way beyond what I expected!
Readers literally sent dozens of very complimentary emails.
Not only did I really enjoy reading them, I was gratified that all the
hard work that went into putting together a new fashion doll magazine
was very much appreciated!
This issue was actually much
easier to put together. The basic outline and elements of the
magazine were already in place. Deb Simpson, my art editor,
revamped the look of the articles to be more visually pleasing.
Maggie, my copy editor, spent so much time convention hopping, it was
hard to pin her down to one place! When she finally got home, she
reviewed the articles with lightning speed!
Tracy Weston and LeeAnn
Bernard have both continued their prior participation in this issue.
Penny Thompson and Asia Attersoll graciously allowed me to add their
soap operas to the Entertainment section.
Alexandra Forbes is our
largest new ongoing contributor. Not only does this issue feature
Alexandra's amazing private collection, Alex will be doing an ongoing
Hair workshop in upcoming issues. She begins in this issue with a
"bangs" how to! As a "real life" hairstylist, Alex brings her
enormous talent to the world of fashion dolls. Lucky for us, she's
going to share her secrets!
Many thanks to all the
people who participated in this issue. Again, we have an
incredible amount of talent represented in the Beauty and Fashion
Departments.
Several readers have asked
if there are plans to take this magazine to print. The answer is
"no!" To do so would require more time, money and energy than I
have to offer! We do, however, plan to make the magazine
"downloadable" by putting it into a pdf. format. Give us a little
longer, we're still learning how to do it! Hope you enjoy this
issue as much as the last!
