Sydney Chase & Friends Episode 2 by LeeAnn Bernard
Meet Miss Sydney Chase..the star of our "drama". (Jewelry by Mairtiques)
When we last saw Maddie and the Earl he was starting to explain what
happened in Paris. By the way what else can I call you besides "Earl"??
asks Maddie. The Earl laughs slightly and tells Maddie his first name is
Cole. Maddie then continues, "Well Cole, I really don't think you should
waste your time explaining everything to me. It's Sydney that you need to
be explaining all of this to. She cared for you, but I think that is over
now. Cole looks devasted. I don't understand he says. I heard rumors of
her seeing some "Cowboy" in Texas. That can't possible be serious.
Sydney enters the penthouse as the Earl (Cole) and Maddie are talking.
Under her breath she says to herself "oh wonderful, he's here already".
Hello Cole, says Sydney. Hello Sydney...I've missed you. I'm glad that you
called and said you wanted to talk. I have so much to say to you. You left
Paris so quickly that I never had a chance to explain about all the rumors
that innocently got started. Sydney asks him if he would like to have a
seat, he declines. He asks Sydney if he can just hold her for a minute, he
is so happy to see her.
I'm sorry Cole but I don't think that is a good idea, says Sydney. I
wanted us to talk so that I could hear your explaination to everything
that happened in Paris. Was it something I did asks Sydney. Why did you
feel the need to see Coco? Did I ever mean anything to you? Oh Sydney,
says Cole, I cared and still do care so much for you. There was never
anything between Coco and I. Just some innocent photos that were taken at
different times. She could never compare to you. Really, says Sydney, then
why did you invite her to visit you, alone, at Hawthorne Manor. From what
I understand you had a very private weekend. What was that all about?? The
Earl looks a little shocked but then recovers. Sydney..
Sydney honestly it was all a misunderstanding. Yes Coco did visit me at Hawthorne Estates. She said that she had been working very hard and that she could really use someplace quiet to relax. I innocently invited her to spend the weekend in the country. I never dreamed it would wind up in the papers. You have to know that no one could mean as much to me as you do. Sydney replies that she really doesn't know what to believe. I have heard so many different stories and I just don't know anymore who is telling the truth and who is not. I think that maybe you should leave Cole. We really don't have anything left to say to one another. This was a big mistake. I know the man that truly cares about me and would never lie to me
Cole laughs and says "you can't possibly mean that cowboy in Texas". I
really can't see you mucking out stalls Sydney, that is not where you
belong and I think you know that. Sydney turns away from Cole and
begins.......(What? What? What does Sydney say to Cole???? Stay tuned!)
Cole I think we've said everything that needs to be said and then some. I
can't believe how you come in here acting all high and mightly. I don't
have to justify my relationship with Rafe to you. But I will say that he
is an honest, hard working man that has shown me through his actions how
much he cares for me and what did I do? I insisted that I come back to New
York to settle things with you. I don't know what I was thinking. We're
through, now please.... leave.
Fine I'll leave Sydney, but this isn't through. You just need some more time to think and sort out your feelings. I'll give you that time. Sydney rolls her eyes and says "Haven't you been listening to what I said? No I guess you haven't your to busy thinking of yourself. Well let me spell it out..I DON'T want you coming back anymore and I have nothing left to say to you." Now I'll ask you again, please leave.
Maddie comes back into the living room when she hears the door shut. "He's
left"? ask Maddie. Yes... finally, says Sydney. I really don't know why I
felt the need to come back here Maddie. Seeing him made me realize exactly
who I want to spend my life with and it's NOT the Earl of Hawthorne. What
did I ever see in him anyway. He's only worried about his reputation. Well
Sydney I think you should....
Sydney I think you should calm down, have some tea and then call Rafe.
Tell him how you feel. That you love him. You know he loves you and is
just waiting to hear what you have decided. That's the best advice I can
give you. Sydney sigh's and tells Maddie she is right. Oh and before I
forget Maddie. Coco and I had a disagreement this afternoon. Just so you
know, I told her that if she doesn't like working for us she is welcome
to find another agency to represent her. Maddie looks at Sydney and
says.............(Stay tuned. What will happen when Sydney calls Rafe?
How will Maddie react to the choice Sydney gave Coco??)
Sydney if Coco decides to leave our agency we'll be fine. Personally
though, I don't think that will be her choice. We book her on great shoots
with some of the best designers. She gets paid very well working for us. I
think she will choose to stay, so don't let that worry you. Take a few
minutes to calm down, your visit with Cole was very upsetting. I'll have
Carlotta bring you some tea, then call Rafe. You'll feel much better after
you talk with him.
Sydney says thank you to Carlotta for the tea. She thinks to herself, "I
can't believe that I felt the need to come back here. Everything I want is
in Texas. I'll call Rafe and tell him I'm coming "home". Sydney tries
calling Rafe all evening....no answer at the ranch. I hope everything is
all right. He's probably just on a business trip. I'll try calling him
tomorrow.
Sydney wakes up the next morning and tries calling Rafe again. Still no
answer. Where could he be thinks Sydney. Just then the doorbell rings,
it's the delivery of her dress for a party she is hosting this weekend.
Her close friend Joyce has designed the most gorgeous creation for the
party. Sydney hangs up the dress and tries Rafe one more time. Again the
doorbell rings. Hmm, the delivery man must have forgotten something.
Sydney opens the door.....
Rafe! I can't believe you're here!!! I tried calling
you and you weren't at the ranch. Rafe tells Sydney that he debated
whether he should come or not. "I didn't want to make you feel like I was
pressuring you to make a decision", says Rafe. But Sydney I've missed you
so much, I couldn't stay away any longer. Oh Rafe, I'm so.........(She's
so what???? We'll find out later. Let's give the love birds a little
privacy. Stay tuned.....)
Sydney I really missed you and was hoping that you wouldn't be upset that
I came to New York without calling you first. Oh Rafe I'm so happy to see
you. I've been trying to call YOU to tell you that I've made my decision.
Everything I want is in Texas. I was foolish to ever leave you. Are you
sure Sydney? I know it will be a change for you, but we can make it work.
Rafe continues, "Sydney there is something that I've been wanting to ask
you for a long time. You know how special I have always felt you were. You
are a wonderful, sexy woman and I've wanted to ask you for so
long.....will you do me the honor of marrying me? Sydney starts to cry,
"Oh Rafe, yes I'll marry you. I'm so happy!"
After sharing an intimate moment, Rafe tells Sydney
that he came to New York yesterday and started looking at some penthouses
in Manhattan. I wanted to give you some opinions of places that we could
live if you agreed to marry me. We can keep a place here in New York then
you can use the jet to fly back and forth as needed. I know that was one
of your big concerns. Your work is important and I realize that Sydney. I
want you to know that I support what you do and will do everything I can
to make you happy. We can make this work. Tomorrow we will go check out
some of the places I found and see if you like any of them. You can decide
which one you like the best. "I'll be happy just being with you," says
Rafe. "Oh Rafe you are going to make me start crying again", says Sydney.
You are just being wonderful and I love you so much! Oh I'll have to call
Tyler to see if she will design some gorgeous gowns for Maddie and I, what
fun! As they continue talking and planning the doorbell rings. Sydney gets
up to answer it and is shocked when she opens the door.
Cole..what are you doing here, asks Sydney. I told you we were through and
that we had nothing left to say to one another. Just then Rafe walks over
to the door. He and Cole finally come face to face. "Oh you have to be
kidding me Sydney", says Cole. What is the cowboy doing here? Rafe tells
Cole...........(what does Rafe tell Cole??? Will Sydney be able to keep
the two of them apart? Stay tuned!)
When we last saw Sydney and Rafe he had just proposed to her and she had
accepted. While discussing their plans about the wedding and where to live
the doorbell rang. Who stood there but Cole Osborne..otherswise known as
the Earl of Hawthorne. Sydney tells him that she asked him not to return
to her apartment just then Rafe walks up. Rafe says to Cole....
Rafe introduces himself to Cole. Cole replies "Oh so you're the cowboy
Sydney is claiming to be in love with". "I really find it difficult to
believe that Sydney will ever be happy with you." Tell me did you bring
her a new pair of boots for mucking out your stalls". Cole snickers to
himself for that one. At this point Rafe has pretty much had it with Cole.
Once again Sydney asks Cole to leave. Rafe has reached his limit. "Look
pretty boy, I believe that Sydney has asked you several times to leave."
"Now I'm not asking you I'm telling you...get out and leave Sydney alone.
She has agreed to marry me and I don't want to see you harassing her any
further. So drag your behind out of here and go search for that blond you
seemed so interested in while you were in Paris". Cole bristles at being
told what to do by Rafe. Sydney pleads with both not to argue any further.
Cole is angry with Rafe but refuses to throw the first punch. He tells
Sydney "Alright I'll leave, but you have to know that this isn't over
Sydney. I know that in your heart you care for me. I'm sorry for
everything you think I have done and I'll try to make it up to you."
Sydney tells Cole, "Rafe and I love one another so there is REALLY nothing
left for you to prove to me. It's over, please accept that Cole."
After Cole leaves Sydney tells Rafe how awful that was. "I can't believe
that he came back here after I specifically asked him not to. Then to
behave the way he did. I'm so sorry." Rafe tells Sydney that she has
nothing to apologize for, "Cole realizes what a wonderful woman he's lost
and is understandably upset." Oh Rafe, you're such a good man. How about
we try to forget this and discuss this weekends party. Rafe thinks that it
is a great idea to think about something else. (Wow! I'm surprised with
how upset Cole got. He is in total denial that Sydney really does not want
him! Hmmm, wonder what he thinks he could do to "make it up" to Sydney???
